Cape Town’s population the “Rainbow Nation” was drawn from countries all over the world. Apartheid destroyed the Ethnic Solidarity which prevailed in the earlier years. Africans were the first to be forcefully removed. In the following years the powerful legal machinery of the Group Areas Act came into effect resulting in a death warrant for many areas in Cape Town and throughout South Africa. Everyone was classified according to race and apartheids next blow was to separate communities. A tour of the townships will result in an understanding of the evolution of the Mother City. It will also give you insight into the ethnic divesting character of the city.

• Visit the Bo-Kaap Museum, One of Cape Town’s oldest original houses, Cape Muslim history: mingling of eastern and western cultures from the 18^th century.

• Visit Gugulethu (Our Pride), formally known as Nyanga West was established in 1958.

• Visit Langa (The Sun), Cape Town oldest township, established in 1927.
